Our members are often found shore diving at many of the great shore diving options we have here in Perth. Members are encouraged to keep an eye on the upcoming events and the Facebook group for upcoming shore dives. Shore diving is a great way to build you diving experience and confidence underwater. We encourage all members who wish to go for a shore dive to post up on the Facebook group and buddy up with other members.
The greatest benefit of being a Curtin Divers member is the ability for Advanced Open water divers and above to dive from the UECWA boat ‘Cape Cruiser’, without having to be a member of UECWA (a saving of $50/year per student). UECWA hold double Rottnest Island dives virtually year round (weather permitting), and know all the best dive sites.
As a majority of the Rottnest dive sites are over 18m in depth and sometimes in challenging conditions, UECWA has a requirement that all divers hold a minimum of Advanced Open Water certification (or equivalent) and have some experience diving from a boat in various ocean conditions.
If you wish to dive from the boat, but don’t yet have your Advanced Open Water certification, then check out the courses page to see if any are running or to inquire about Curtin Divers running one.
